Been getting into a better rhythm with my work lately. I wanted to wait until I was done with the current Wander chapter to fix my room (my art desk was falling apart after many years of faithful service and moving around, and I was running out of storage room) but I caved and fixed it a few weeks ago. I got a $60 set of utility storage shelves that aren't pretty but they get the job done. They're thirty six inches tall, just barely tall enough to be standing desks. I'm liking standing while I'm drawing a lot, my back doesn't hurt nearly as much as it did before. My room feels neater so I feel calmer.
I also was in my first art show last weekend. It was a small affair but it was still nice to see my stuff on the wall next to other artists. And it was nice to get all dressed up and have fun with my friends for a weekend. Oh and I applied for the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo's Cupcake grant. Which is $250 for the printing of a new minicomic plus a free table at their expo in May. I really hope I win, I miss doing minicomics as opposed to a long-form story. Wish me luck!
