I was at Heroes Con this weekend, just as a patron, and it was probably the best time I've had at a con in a long long time. I met Matt Fraction, Kelly Sue Deconnick, Chip Zdarsky, Matt Wilson, Joe Quinones, Kevin Wada, all superb people that I hope to see again. That's me and Joe Quinones. Fantastic guy. Another thing I unexpectedly took away was, I want to do what they do. I want to work and work and work and then go to cons and see my work and how it affects people. (Like I legit almost cried when I started trying to tell Kelly Sue Deconnick how much her work means to me. I did not, and I've never been prouder of myself.)
Not to mention I found the first issue of The Wicked + The Divine, which I knew was going to knock my socks off anyway, but something that Kieron Gillen said in the back matter just...energized me. During the hour and a half drive home, I wanted to do something but couldn't because of how dark it was. So instead I sang (awfully) to the radio with my friends, came home, thought about putting things away. Instead I got ready for bed and typed out a few lines for my next comic project. Now, I'm going to find some breakfast, get a shower, tidy up, and then get to work. I've got so much to do.
